YOUR THOUGHTS SPIRAL AND SEEM TO BE A NEVER ENDING STREAM OF THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT OR FEEL BAD ABOUT

YOU CAN'T FORGET YOUR PAST AND IT FEELS AS IF IT'S STILL HAPPENING AND HAUNTING YOU

Welcome! I'm Katie

I’m glad you’re here. Looking for a therapist can feel overwhelming, and simply taking the time to look for support is already a meaningful step toward feeling better. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, trauma, racing thoughts, difficult memories, or just feeling stuck, you don’t have to figure everything out on your own.

My goal as your therapist is to come alongside you—to help you better understand what you’re experiencing, identify what may be contributing to it, and give you practical tools to create meaningful change. I want therapy to be a place where you feel comfortable being yourself, where you feel genuinely heard, and where we can also actively work toward helping you feel better.

A little about me: I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in biology and chemistry, and I actually began my career path in medical school before realizing that mental health was where I belonged. That background still influences the way I practice today. I’m naturally curious about how the brain and body work, and I believe understanding why something is happening can be just as valuable as learning what to do about it.

My approach to therapy is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. I’m not a therapist who will simply sit back and ask, “How does that make you feel?” I like to explain what I’m noticing, help you understand the patterns we’re seeing, and talk about why we’re using a particular approach. Depending on your needs, our work may include EMDR, trauma-focused therapy, education about the brain and nervous system, and other evidence-based approaches.

Most importantly, I don’t believe I’m the expert on your life—you are. I bring my training, clinical experience, and perspective, while you bring the lived experience of being you. We work together to figure out what makes sense and what actually helps.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a mom, traveler, reader, and lifelong learner. I value humor, curiosity, authenticity, and being able to talk like real people in therapy.

If you’re looking for someone who will listen, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, teach you useful tools, and actively work alongside you toward the life you want, I’d be happy to see if we’re a good fit.

Neurofeedback (Coming soon!)

In-office or At-home Neurofeedback

Your neurofeedback experience begins in the office with a qEEG brain map and intake. You will be taught how to properly place and use the equipment.

After that, you'll be able to take a neurofeedback device home and complete your training sessions on your own schedule. I continue to monitor your progress and adjust your training along the way, while you have the flexibility to complete sessions from home rather than coming into the office for every appointment.

The goal is to make consistent brain training easier to fit into real life—without being tied to frequent office visits.

Neurofeedback is expected to become available in early 2027. Join the interest list to receive updates and be notified when scheduling opens.

ARE WE A GOOD FIT?

No one wants to waste time rehashing their most painful and vulnerable moments with no positive results from it.  Therapy is an emotional, financial, and time commitment, so it's important to find a therapist that will be a good fit for you.

I work best with clients who are ready to take an active role in their life and take the steps needed to start moving forward to feeling better. We will work together to find the skills and tools that work best in your life and with how your mind works in order to have them be effective, then it's your job to use them. Tools don't work if you don't use them and therapy isn't effective if you don't implement the skills.

I work well with clients who have a trauma background and are experiencing things such as PTSD, anxiety, racing/spiraling thoughts, feeling unsatisfied in their life, interested in an integrated approach, and want to build a life they love.

Please read more about the types of tools/methods we will use on the Therapy Approaches page.
